Fable 2 is the best damn game I’ve played all year. Period. Since the media embargoes are all ending today, I think you’ll see that I’m not alone in believing this. Everything from the first game has been dramatically improved and I really do believe this is Peter Moleneux’s best game to date. Sure there are a few things I’m unhappy with (a lot of it to do with co-op), but I haven’t had this much fun playing an RPG is as long as I can remember.
Obviously this game is currently my front-runner for game of the year. I’m expecting Fallout 3 and Gears of War 2 to also be strong contenders but at this point I’m not so sure they’ll be match my love for this game.
One of the most fascinating things about this game is how different everyone’s world is. Talking with my twitter-friends reveals that we’re all having completely varied experiences based on the choices we’ve made. And those choice? NOT OBVIOUS. I can’t say too much without the possibility of massive spoilers but I will say that I was making choices without realizing it… BIG ONES. If you want to get a lot more out of this game when you pick it up tomorrow… be sure to share your experience with other players. It adds a lot to the experience.

I love the game, and apparently there are 6 Dolls that you can collect, but each profile can only have 1 Doll in it and you have to trade with others over Xbox Live.
I hope the Online Coop is a little better than the Local Coop, not that local is bad, its just a bit of a pain with the camera… Especially when you’re trying to shoot Gargoyles or if your a long range fighter and your henchman is short range.
All the little choices all add up too.. I couldn’t believe it. I heard about one of your little choices and the effect it had. It’s too sad that we now have to pay bigtime if we want to be called The Chosen One

So I’m guessing the Online Co-Op patch isn’t out yet?
Where are the gargoyles? I’ve yet to find one…are they hidden?

DjDatz, just listen. you can hear the gargoyles when you’re close. they’re scottish.
I agree that its interesting how everyone’s world and experience can vary but a lot of people playing won’t even realize that the experience they’re having is unique at all, and assume that everyone else is having the same experience. I think thats part of the problem with online play though, which you touched on. If we could inhabit other people’s worlds better we’d be able to see this and it would become interesting to explore your friend’s world with them where they have made different world-altering choices.
Online co-op is available today so I guess we’ll see how it turns out. Apparently the camera is just as bad in online co-op as it is in local co-op which is very unfortunate. They came very close to making a great co-op game… just not quite close enough.
